My name is Patricia Hunte and I live in Portland, OR. I am a retired journalist. I used to work in TV news. I heard about Positive Changes on the TV. I said I should give that a try. Before coming to Positive Changes, I was way overweight and I was frustrated with myself because I had tried for several months to lose weight. I had lost 10 pounds but I realized that 10 pounds in 7 months was too little.
Once I realized that I couldn't do this by myself, I thought that Positive Changes could help me. I've been overweight for 10 years. I became overweight after my husband died.
To date I have lost 88 pounds. I've gone down in size tremendously. I'm wearing a size 8 pant where I was wearing a size 22 pant before. I've tried to lose weight with other diets. I tried so many. I lost a mere ten pounds and I knew that I wasn't going to keep it off.
Positive Changes made it considerably easier to lose the weight. I dropped the weight before I knew it. What made it easy for me was that I did what the program told me to do. I changed how I ate. I eat better than I have ever eaten in my life. Believe it or not, I have continued to eat well. When I say eat well, it means I'm eating healthy foods, foods that give me nutrition.
I saw results within the first month. I noticed that something was different. I was drinking more water. My portion sizes became smaller. I exercised more regularly and I increased my exercise stints. I commonly work out for 1 ½ hours now and I do that at least four or five days a week. After 3 months the weight loss was really noticeable. My weight loss has been consistent.
I also started noticing changes in my behavior after the first month. I started doing what I learned in the hypnosis sessions. I thought hypnosis would be kind of hairy fairy but it was really a learning process. They taught me more during the hypnosis and it has stayed with me. I choose food better. I choose nutritional food and I choose food that is going to do for me what I want food to do. I like that.
Every session I had made changes to me. I took them very seriously. I eat better and I don't eat between meals. I don't do a lot of snacking. I was not in control of my eating habits before coming to Positive Changes. I always wanted to go get a snack and a not very nutritional snack at that. I was eating badly. I ate potato chips habitually. I ate more ice cream than I needed and I gave myself treats too regularly. I ate at all hours of the day and night. I felt personally defeated. I realized I was in a war with myself and I was losing. I knew I needed to change my diet radically. I don't eat those types of snacks anymore. Now I'm very pleased with my eating habits.
My friends and family can't believe the changes in me. My relationships with them have changed. They believe me now, they have confidence in me and it's a positive change. They can't believe that I'm the same person that they used to sit down at the table with because I eat differently than I used to eat. My food choices are better. I don't eat late at night. I used to eat whenever I wanted to eat.
I have seen my doctor and he is over the moon. He hung up a photo of me before and took a photo of me now. He wants his patients to see what I have done. I developed diabetes from being overweight and now my doctor is hopeful that I will be able to stop my medication. My last blood test was very good.
My blood pressure and cholesterol are all good now. I no longer take cholesterol medication. My stamina has improved. I get through my days with no trouble at all. I have a great day. I don't have those mid-afternoon slumps anymore. I stopped drinking caffeine so I don't have the downers. My way of life has changed tremendously as a result of the training I received through Positive Changes. I live differently and better than I did when I was overweight. The Positive Changes program literally set my life on a new course and I will only continue that course. I've added new disciplines and they are working for me. I have much more confidence than I used to have. People notice me now and regard me differently. My social life has also changed. I have a young man who is interested in me and no one was ever interested in me before.
The cost of the program is justified because of all of the ways that it has changed me. I have known people who have lost weight and gained it back. I have lost weight and I have kept it off for over a year.
I'm now looking forward to having a relationship with this young man who has come into my life. I am looking forward to growing my business with my health products because I am a good example of good health. I'm a new person! I expect that to affect every aspect of my life.
The most incredible thing that has happened to me since coming to Positive Changes is my health. I have rendered myself a healthier woman than I was when I first came here. I feel healthier and walk better. I can carry myself now.
My confidence is also back. I have confidence in myself and that is invaluable to me. That to me is incredible. I do believe that my weight loss is permanent.
I would recommend Positive Changes to anyone who wants to lose weight because of the ease of which I did what I've done. I remember the ease when I first started and then when my program was over, I realized that the things that I learned are embedded in my psyche. I will never be fat again.
